Cory + Jennifer | Engagement

We met Cory and Jennifer at a wedding we shot over New Years Eve last year. Cory came up and talked to us towards the end of the reception and said he and his fiance' wanted to have us shoot their wedding the following summer after seeing us work. After meeting them we were excited for it too. Living in Ames they drove to Cedar Falls for the shoot. From the get go things just clicked. Pun intended.. haha :)

These two are full of personality and were really enjoyable to photograph. You could see the love these two had for each other. I give Cory a lot of credit. He was probably the most excited guy we have ever shot. And Jennifer made it impossible to get a bad picture. We are really looking forward to shooting your guys wedding! Rachael + Joe | Engagement

We had the wonderful opportunity to photograph this couple, Rachael and Joe! Rachael and Joe are both  in the medical field serving in our military. They are having their wedding here in Iowa but are stationed in North Carolina. The details they have shared with us about their wedding make me extremely excited for their big day! I'll keep you in the dark until then but trust me it will be worth the wait!

We shot their engagement shoot at Prairie Lakes in Cedar Falls and downtown. Here are a few of our favorite shots! For more from this set click here!

B&S Creative works with Recording artist Karla Ruth on upcoming album "Ordinary Days"

We were honored to work with the talented recording artist Karla Ruth on her new album "Ordinary Days". We did art direction and design for the album and it was such a fantastic experience to work with such talented people. CD was recorded at Catamount Studios in Cedar Falls, IA by Tom Tatman. If you haven't seen his studio you MUST check it out. INCREDIBLE!

On this album Karla set out to have it feel as if you were listening to her at a live performance. With driving acoustic guitar, catchy tunes matched by authentic lyrics -you're in for a real treat with this album. Be sure to check her out at an upcoming performance or pick up the CD at Barns and Nobel.

Yup - thats right! B&S Creative Photography was included in the 2012 "Wedding Essentials" planner issue!

Four pictures made it in the issue with two of them being near the "choosing a photographer" section. :) great placement, yeah? We think so haha :)

We have a few spots left open for 2012 and are starting to fill for 2013. If you or some one you know who is getting married this year or next be sure to tell them about us! We'd love to be a part of your big day!  For those of you that are graduating seniors this year we do senior portraits too!

New Years Eve Wedding

There's nothing like ending the year with a bang right? Well, that exactly what Jason and Jessie did. A New Years Eve Wedding! I had some preview pics posted on Facebook shortly after the wedding but figured I would share them here too. Reason being is because in the next few days I'll be posting more from their big day! Short and sweet post today. But it has now become a goal to keep up on this thing. Enjoy the pics and Im looking forward to sharing more!

Engagement shoot

My sister-in-law and my cousin are getting married next June.  Yes, I did just write that...and no we don't live in Arkansas. Crazy story actually. My wife and I started dating and did the long distance thing our senior year of high school. She's from iowa and myself from New Mexico. Only meeting each other do to a visit she made to a friend in New Mexico on a family summer vacation. Long story short, we hit it off, fell in love and here we are!

Well, while in college I would always go home for the holidays. Steph (my wife) came down for our families New Years party a couple of those years and one year her younger sister Stacey, AKA Ping, came along with to visit a friend. During this same time my cousin, Bryant, who was on leave from the Navy was also in town. They both came to the family New Years party. And as you probably have guessed they too hit it off, dated long distance, fell in love and now are getting married. Which leads up to these pics and the point to this post.

Ping and Bryant came to visit us a couple weeks ago in Cedar Falls, and while they were here we did an engagement shoot. It was a lot of fun and easy going. Especially since it was family. The following are some of the pictures from the shoot.

I was really glad they came when they did because it was the peak weekend for the fall colors :) the next couple days it rained and then got cold... so now here in cedar falls the trees are dull and brown.

Enjoy the pics! If you want to check out more of the session visit our facebook page and be sure to "like it"

Well that is all for tonight...

Good night and God Bless!

Its been awhile...

It has been awhile since I last posted on this here blog. My intentions were to keep this thing updated on a weekly basis, but that didn't happen...bummer! So, lets try this again. haha :)

We have had some fun shoots lately and Im excited to share them out with all of you in internet land!

We did a portrait shoot with a good friend of mine, Casey. After this shoot it was decided that once winter comes she must do a winter shoot due to being so photographic :) with her bouncy, energetic personality - this shoot was definitely a fun time.
